THE GRAND PRAIRIE MASTER-PLANNED COMMUNITY IN HOCKLEY ANNOUNCES PLANS FOR AN EMERGENCY SERVICES DISTRICT (ESD) FACILITY AS IT CONTINUES TO ENHANCE ON-SITE INFRASTRUCTURE AND CAPABILITIES

HOUSTON, TX – April 1, 2024

EMBER Real Estate Investment & Development, a Houston-based private real estate investment and development firm specializing in land acquisition and delivery of master-planned communities, industrial and select residential projects, today announced plans for an emergency services district (ESD) building to be constructed on-site at The Grand Prairie in Hockley, TX. Totaling nearly 16,000 square feet and set on a three-acre parcel, the facility is set to break ground in July and be completed in August of 2025.

 

To realize the vision for an emergency services building that will service residents within The Grand Prairie, EMBER has tapped an experienced project team consisting of architect Martinez Architects, civil engineering firm S&G Engineers, structural engineering firm Matrix Structural, MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) by Emerald MEP, landscaping from Evergreen Design Group, and technological implementation from Combs Consulting Group. The two-story ESD building will house emergency services vehicles, personnel, and equipment and is designed to bring critical safety measures as close to The Grand Prairie residents as possible.

The initial phase of The Grand Prairie includes 481 homes from home builders David Weekley HomesPerry HomesSitterle Homes,Village Builders, and Westin Homes; the master-planned community recently celebrated its first home closing. Homes in The Grand Prairie range in price from the upper $200s to the $600s+ and are available on 40- 45-, 50- and 60-foot homesites.

 

Amenities include a one-of-a-kind welcome experience located within The Grand Prairie’s model home park, the Sundancer amenity center (anticipated to open in spring 2025), miles of interconnected trails, a 70-acre, kayak-friendly Lake Ember, five smaller lakes and 450 acres of dedicated park land that will include a number of pocket parks, including The Overlook, a 40-foot hill at the heart of the community. The Grand Prairie also recently announced plans for an onsite Waller ISD elementary school along Baethe Rd. that will offer young residents the opportunity to walk or bike to school on a daily basis.
