EMBER Real Estate Investment & Development today announced the sale of a 15.3-acre parcel within its 1,730-acre, nature-focused master-planned community, The Grand Prairie, to Waller Independent School District (Waller ISD). Located in the high-demand, northwest side of Greater Houston, the site will serve as the future home of an elementary school. The Grand Prairie, which broke ground in June, is making great strides in development and is slated to host its public grand opening early in the second quarter of 2024.

As part of its first phase, the community will showcase residences from five acclaimed builders – David Weekley Homes, Perry Homes, Sitterle Homes, Village Builders, and Westin Homes – ranging in price from the upper $200s to the $600s+. Placing a premium on natural amenities, the community is planned to feature more than 450 acres of parks, connected by meandering waterways and miles of walkable trails.


Waller ISD is among the fastest-growing school districts in Texas and has received substantial recognition for its smaller class sizes, low student-to-teacher ratio, emphasis on individualized instruction in the classroom, and a dynamic Career and Technical Education program. Known for its commitment to all-around excellence, Waller ISD offers 1:1 student technology districtwide. It is home to one of Texas’ only comprehensive high schools (grades 9-12) that offers more than 40 hours of free dual-credit college courses and 90+ career and technical education (CTE) courses in over 22 programs of study. CTE programming includes – but is not limited to – culinary, cosmetology, welding, health science, business, marketing, and finance. Junior high schools (grades 6-8) offer a wide variety of academics, fine arts, athletic, and extracurricular opportunities. Elementary schools (prekindergarten-grade 5) also offer academic and extracurricular opportunities as well as specials rotations in library, STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math), music, and physical education.
